I am in the market to buy a new tig welder and plasma cutter hopefully all in one unit so that I can do some mods to my bike and go kart.....I have spoken to some of the bigger companies like lincoln, miller, harbor freight and they are a little to expensive for me at the time so I was wondering if anyone had any advice on where to look for some affordable but reliable welding companies

check hobart. they have good stuff but still will be priced kinda deep. I will tell you this-- You can spend a dime and lose a dollar. If you can't buy something good-- don't waste your money on junk. Have you ever tig welded?

Okay, so after reading.... I'm not smart on tig or mig differences, but heres my input. I have a brand new snap- on 220 volt welder and I absolutely LOVE it. I also bought a 110 volt plasma but honestly, I have only used it once so it was a waste of $ to me. I use a porta- band saw and or a sawz- all more. I have a great working 110 welder that I'd be willing to sale a deal in and it comes with a tank- it has straight argon in it. It works great on sheet metal and I honestly wouldnt think twice about using it on thinner frames. If interested, PM me.
