Submitted via Mobile Device 6/42 - 7:00 or a 6/43 - 7:16 ratio will do quiet well, but ya better have a good bottom end.

In a renegade car, you can run a 6.20 or 6.50 and be fine.

In a renegade car, you can run a 6.20 or 6.50 and be fine. We only run there once this year and we run the gear we run at CCS, a 6:50 and only turned 6800. Definately needed more gear.

gerald we had a 620 in the limited and turned 7400.....stowes had a 708 i think in their renegade and said it was way too much... Better check your tach, or your spinning your tires. We run 6:50 at CCS and it is way bigger than Harris. just sayin', besides, I'm sure you know that you choose your gear ratio to tire size and to where the power curve on your camshaft is at, so there is no set ratio to run, it's what works best with your combination.

thanks everyone I have no clue on this v8 stuff i just need in the ballpark dont want to be out in left field. If you're accustomed to running four cylinders, it is a whole different animal than the V/8 classes. Mainly, you're pulling much more weight and need more gear to pull you off the corner where in the fours your try to keep your rpm's up. Pulling a 7:00 is at the upper end of what you would want to turn a renegade motor and you should have good stuff if you plan on running it. I don't know but if you're just starting out in the gade class, you may want to start with a 20 0r a 50 until you get the hang of things, but if you want to run out front you will have to have more gear.
