WHITE HAS CAKEWALK IN SEASON FINAL AT EAST LINCOLN SPEEDWAY

STANLEY, N.C. (Monday, September 17))–Ronnie White (Charlotte) shot out of the starting blocks and ran away from the field to win the 20-lap Late Model Modified-Sportsman feature race Saturday night at East Lincoln Speedway. He clinched the track championship with the win.

White’s Monte Carlo Chevrolet started on the pole and finished 12 car lengths in front of runner-up Blane Huffman (Denver) . He has been the force of the division winning 10 races in 2007. Keith Bowman (McAdenville) wound up third, Jonathan Jennings (Maiden) was fourth and Jim Henneborn (Catawba) was fifth.

“The car was awesome...so easy to drive today,” said White. “I was moving around the track and we hit on a line and a setup. I was pretty lucky to have a car like this to driver.”

Brian Roseman (Conover) wheeled is Micro-Sprint to victory in the division’s 25-lap contest.

Completing the top five were Justin Lineman (Spencer), Donald Babb, Jr. (Mooresville), Roland Haines (Salisbury) and Terry Peters (Concord).

Brain Nuhfer (Denver) prevailed over Tony Paladino (Kannapolis), Mark Woody (Dallas), Randy Powell (Lincolnton) and Jamie Major (Alexis) in Stock Four competition.

Matthew Patterson (Kings Mountain) inherited the Rookie Four main event trophy after Riley Dunford (Stoney Point) and Cooter Tucker (Concord) were disqualified in a post race technical inspection.

Credited with second place was Jack Anderson (Denver). Leonard Johnson (Iron Station), Lee Oiler (Statesville) and Jessica Mendenhall (Jonesville) moved into third, fourth and fifth finishing positions.

David Holland (Harmony) emerged victorious in the feature event for Renegade drivers.

Chris Stowe (Stanley) was second, Mickey Anderson (Statesville) third, Tracy Tapley (Kannapolis) fourth and Shannon Walker (Denver) fifth.

“I just had to run wide open all the way and hope for the best,” said Holland. ‘I knew Stowe and Anderson were the ones to beat.”

Justin Mauney (Stanley) stuck his foot in the carburetor of his 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt and ran away with top laurels in the Stars of Tomorrow feature for 12-16-year olds.

Rounding out the top five were Dyaln O’Daniel (Dallas), Brett Myers (Statesville), Jake Ziegler (Sherrill’s Ford) and Brian Toler (Stanley).

In the special race for Stars of Tomorrow drivers that had not won in 2007 Toler took the checkers.

Tucker was the winner of the Rookie Four non-winners race.

Saturday’s action brought the curtain down on the 2007 racing season at East Lincoln Speedway. The next speedway function will the annual awards banquet on November 10th at Downtown Dino’s in Gastonia.
