Antioch racing report for 9-1-2007


Carswell Wins At Antioch

Morganton, N. C. [9-01-2007] Brian Carswell built motor Ford #4 from Valdese led flag to flag winning the Late Model race Saturday night at Antioch Speedway. Buddy Smith crate motor Chevy #08 from Cherryville finished second. Wesley Chester Dodge crate motor #H1 finished third. Raymond Pennington built motor Chevy #6 from Creston fourth. Will Shuffler crate motor Chevy #46 finished fifth.
Tim Bristol #71 from Morganton kept his winning streak going by leading every lap in the $500 to win Super Stock V-8 event. Travis Smith #4 dropped out late in the event with engine problems while running second. Wesley Chester #35 finished second. Jason Ledford #14 finished third. Kevin Pangrazial #42 finished fourth. Terry Ross #8 rounded out the top five.
Tim Sigmon #47 from Denver won a very competitive Renegade V-8 event. Ronnie Vasser #44V led the first of eleven laps until he had steering problems allowing Sigmon to take the lead. Sigmon led the last four laps to the checkered flag. Brad Laws #9 finished second. Vasser overcame a late race spin to finish third. Larry Brown #18 finished fourth. Newcomer Michael Williams #02 finished fifth.
Travis Chatham #21 from Taylorsville led green to checkered winning the Super Stock Four race. Richard Vasser #74 finished second. Steve Annas #7A finished third, Chris Cleary #88 finished fourth and Ed Brittain #57 finished fifth.
Jeremy Potter #79 from Taylorsville won a hotly contested Pure Stock Four event. Ricky Waters #28 jumped out front at the drop of the green but pitted six laps later with engine problems. Potter took the lead and held off Richard Vasser #15 at the line for the win. Vasser a close second. Ryan Shumate #43 finished third. Curtis Barker #84 finished fourth. Robert Sabol #9 finished fifth.
JW Hicks #15 from Valdese won a very competitive Young Guns race. Adam Eller #00 led the first six laps until he slowed with a right rear flat. Hicks who was running third at the time passed Brandon Marshall #21 and Eller on the same lap to take the lead. Hicks led the last half of the race to take the checkered flag. Marshall finished a close second. Jonathan Stamey #03 finished third. Joseph Hoswell #9 finished fourth. Devin Harris #48 overcame a first lap flat tire to finish fifth.
Roger Reevis #1 won a very competitive Road Rage race. Eddie Burks #200 finished second. Dab Saulman #2 survived his hood flying up midway of the race to finish third.
